The Orenex Security Information System with the Livescan Fingerprint workstation was developed to provide law enforcement organizations with a fully certified identity management system. It was later expanded to provide a platform to enable “fee for service” companies to lease or lend systems to customers who then submit their transactions through the supplier’s system of a fee-per-transaction basis.
Ahearn & Soper Inc. is an authorized reseller of Orenex Livescan SIS based on the "Direct Connect" model. This model permits a customer to purchase their Orenex Livescan System and then submit transactions directly to the RCMP.
The direct connect process produces results in minutes as opposed to the several months it takes to submit the traditional form 216C.
Geared towards police departments, government COMSEC departments, and qualifying commercial ventures, the Orenex SIS direct connect system is an invaluable tool, now that the RCMP will only process submissions using fingerprints. With it's flexible design, it can be configured produce all types of civil and criminal submissions.
Orenex Security Information System (SIS) Modules:
In addition to its main task of identity & background checks the Orenex SIS system is comprised of the following modules and capabilities.
Visitor Identification / Management
Visitor identification is scanned and the data is extracted via optical character recognition to create a permanent and accurate record of visitor / employee visit transactions. SIS is capable of extracting basic personal information from Drivers Licenses issued in North America and most other countries.
Extensive Reporting Capabilities
SIS has a state of the art report builder capability that allows the SIS administrator to report on any information stored in the database or to create custom identification and passes. SIS comes complete with more than fifty existing reports.
Integrated OrgChart Management
In SIS, power users are able to rapidly build an organization chart as employees are being added to the system. The SIS Administrator is able to validate, update and reorganize additions as required. All SIS users, especially front desk staff, are able to quickly search for employees by Orgchart.
Identity Management
The Security Information System has extensive identity verification and privilege management capabilities
Access Control
SIS can be fully integrated into many access control systems to extend its high level of secure identity management to the physical security of the facility.

Our Orenex Livescan workstation and SIS Server systems eliminate the delays associated with security/fingerprint
requests, reducing the turnaround from months to a few minutes. These reliable systems use certified components for
fingerprint capture/printing and have available optional drivers license scanning and photograph capture capabilities.
System architecture and communications paths are such that any workstation can continue to operate in the event of a
server malfunction. Message traffic between nodes can be encrypted and/or sent by secure SMTP email. This email is
internal to the system only and is not subject to interception.
The software is certified by the RCMP and is already in use by numerous fee-for-service commercial companies. System
hardware and software is fully supported by Ahearn & Soper Inc.
Security intelligence solutions that collect information pursuant to the Canadian
Government Security Policy, the RCMP Act and the Privacy Act are now available
from Ahearn & Soper Inc. These solutions support the mandates of property,
personnel and departmental security operations. Information regarding current
deployment of these systems is available, on a need to know basis, to persons that
hold an appropriate personnel security screening granted or approved by the
Canadian International Industrial Security Division (CIISD), Public Works &
Government Services Canada.
Since the tragic events of 9/11, governments have taken on a heightened degree

most government facilities. As a minimum, departments must ensure the
safeguarding of all personnel and assets by applying security requirements within
the Government Security Policy (GSP) combined with new standards in the
following areas:
